Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine used to treat illness, prevent disease, and optimize health and wellness. With hair thin needles inserted into specific points on the body, we access the

internal environment and guide it from disharmony back toward balance and health. The treatment is based on the condition of the individual and the symptoms they are experiencing, paired with the principles and strategies used in this ancient method of healing.

Our health is shaped by the way we handle stress, our dietary and exercise habits, countless environmental factors, and also by the way that we think. It is human nature for of us to be bumped off track and to need guidance back toward wellness. Acupuncture is a very safe and effective means to steer the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the person toward optimal health.

I am a Licensed Acupuncturist, a graduate of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. I combine acupuncture with dietary and lifestyle coaching to help patients get the most out of the acupuncture treatments.  Acupuncture is a powerful tool for healing as well as for the prevention of disease. From every day aches and pains, headaches, and sports injuries, to hormonal imbalance, gastrointestinal issues, decreased immunity, sleep disorders, or anxiety and depression, acupuncture can address and improve all of these conditions.  Acupuncture stimulates your body’s ability to heal itself and to prevent minor ailments from becoming more major ones. It removes stagnation and blockage of energy in the body which leads to the disruption of healthy function, discomfort, and disease.  Many patients report experiencing deep relaxation during the treatments, emerging as if from a restful nap, followed by increased clarity and focus.  It's like hitting the "Reset" button!

Testimonials

"This past summer, I saw an ad for a local acupuncturist. I like using local people because it helps support our community. Joanna Ferdman turned out to be a treasure! She has helped heal or promote healing to several parts of my body. I am a fitness nerd and work my body hard, so finding Joanna, and getting treatment for my back, my feet, and the arthritis in my thumb joint, has allowed me to continue on my fitness journey with much reduced or non-existent pain. If you're looking for someone who is sensitive, knowledgeable about the body and about nutrition to help fight inflammation causing pain,  Joanna is the acupuncturist you need."
